A WhatsApp group has been set up for anyone who can volunteer with projects on the site or help plot holders who may be struggling. The group is called Bellburn Lottie Volunteers.
Open Day
The committee would like to thank all of the volunteers, be they friends, family or plot holders who helped during set up, on the day and with the break down afterwards. The guys organising the parking did a great job of a difficult task (especially when one plot holder yet again ignored all the road closed signs which had been up for weeks and tried to drive through the event!) to keep everything running smoothly. Pictures have been added to the Open Day 2024 page so see if you can spot yourself! |
Bonfires
We have now moved onto the Summer schedule which means plot holders are allowed to have bonfires after 5pm each day and up until 11am on Sunday mornings. Fires are only allowed in a bin barrel or oil drum. Before you light one please make sure that the wind is blowing away from nearby houses. Do not burn green waste as this creates a lot of smoke and only waste from your plot is to be burnt. Please do not leave fires unattended and make sure they are fully out before leaving. |
Pond Project
The current major project on site is to clear the area around and behind the Groundwork Community Plot.
This area includes ponds and drainage channels which had become overgrown and were contributing to the flooding of surrounding plots. After years of neglect it has been hard going but thanks to a small crew of plot holders we are making progress. If you can give a bit of time time to help out then they are usually around on a weekend or you can check the Facebook and WhatsAp groups for further details.
Once cleared the area around the pond will have seating, more trees and flowers to make it suitable for community use. If you have anything which could be useful (plants, bulbs or even furniture) then please let us know!
Groundwork are running a working party day on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 10am to 3pm if any plotholders fancy getting involved.
Water
The water was turned back on at the end of April, please still use any stored water and catch as much free stuff as you can!

We have a code for discount on the Dobies website, if you wish to take advantage of this please contact us and we will send it to you. We don't want to put it on here incase non plot holders abuse it.
During 2023 the plots were renumbered to make the site flow easier to understand
This is the up to date plan.
